Independent String Processing with GK Technology

The GR-D harnesses Roland's advanced GK technology to process each of your guitar's strings independently. This eliminates the muddy, indistinct sound common with high-gain analog distortion, resulting in exceptionally clear, articulate, and powerful tones even with complex chords.

Four Unique Distortion and Synth Sound Modes

Go beyond traditional distortion with four unique sound modes at your fingertips. Select from two distinct V-Guitar distortion types (VG-DIST 1, VG-DIST 2), a harmonically rich Polyphonic Distortion (POLY DIST), or a dynamic synth voice that tracks your playing flawlessly, all powered by real-time DSP for zero-latency performance.

Four Unique Distortion and Synth Sound Modes

Stage-Ready Control with SOLO Boost and Memory

Built for the stage, the GR-D features a rugged Twin Pedal design with an ON/OFF switch and a dedicated SOLO footswitch that instantly boosts your volume and presence for lead sections. With four user memory slots, you can save your favorite custom tones and recall them instantly, either from the pedal or directly from your GK-equipped guitar.

Yes, to access the V-Guitar features, this pedal requires a guitar equipped with a Roland GK-compatible 13-pin divided pickup, such as the GK-3 or a built-in system.

It offers four distinct sound types: two unique V-Guitar distortions, a polyphonic distortion for complex chordal work, and a synth voice that follows your guitar's pitch and dynamics.

While it has standard jacks for integrating with other pedals, the core GK processing features are only available when connected to a GK-equipped guitar via a 13-pin cable.

No, the GR-D does not include an AC adapter. It can be powered by six AA batteries (included) or a separately sold Roland PSA-series power supply.

You can sculpt your tone using the GAIN, COLOR, and TONE knobs and then press the WRITE button to save your creation into one of the four available user memory slots for easy recall.

The dedicated SOLO footswitch provides an instant volume and presence boost, allowing your guitar to cut through the mix for solos and lead parts without needing a separate boost pedal.
